What the academy is built on

The four foundations of Little Lights Academy. Over 17 years of experience in public education, taking the strongest elements of traditional schooling so students engage the world effectively while staying distinct from it. An authentic social-emotional and character curriculum in which faith is the foundation rather than verses tacked onto a standard course. Differentiated and individualized instruction, with a custom curriculum or supplemental track mapped to each child's strengths, interests, and challenges. And a writing-centered program that builds concrete writing skills at every level.

The character curriculum, seven Gs leading to God's glory. One, growth mindset: belief in one's own ability to learn, and belief in Jesus first. Two, grit: perseverance, longsuffering in faith and learning. Three, gratitude: appreciation, giving thanks to the Lord in all circumstances. Four, grades: measures, accountability and refinement. Five, groups: collaboration, fellowship and unity in spirit. Six, generosity: sharing, generous in spirit and cheerful giving. Seven, glory: everything we do is to glorify Jesus Christ.
